iOS 11 has come on September 19th, and you can upgrade your iPhone iPad iPod touch right now, via Air or iTunes. However, some users have reported that there is no iOS 11 update notification at all in the Settings or popping up a message “Unable to Check for Update. An error occurred while checking for a software update.”, when heading to upgrading over the Air. Secondly, you can try these steps below to fix this iPhone 8/X problem quickly;

Step 1Make sure your iDevice connecting to power charger and Wi-Fi. This is because under low power and cellular data, Apple will not allow iOS updating. Then check if iOS 11 showing up.

Step 2If you have downloaded iOS 11 beta version on your device, iOS 11 will not appear in the settings, either. So you need to delete the beta profile firstly, and then get started the regular version updating. To delete the beta profile, go to Settings > General > Scroll down to Profiles & Device Management > Click on the beat version and delete this profile.
