How to Move iTunes Library to New PC/Mac

Solution 1. Move iTunes Library to New Computer with an External Drive

Begin by backing up your iTunes library onto the external hard drive.

Step 1. Locate the iTunes folder on your PC or Mac:

Mac: ~\Users\username\Music\iTunes\.

Windows 7 and 8: Navigate to \Users\username\My Music\iTunes.

Step 2. Plug in your external drive. Drag the iTunes folder to your external drive.

Step 3. Disconnect the external hard drive from the first computer, and then connect it to your new PC/Mac computer.

Step 4.  Find the Music or My Music folder as mentioned above on your new computer. Drag and drop the iTunes folder from the external drive to the Music folder of the new computer.
