Which Recovery Mode of PhoneRescue Should I Choose?

As mentioned before, PhoneRescue provides three recovery modes for iOS users. To know which mode is suitable for you, below will list several situations for you to take into consideration. Hope it will help you clearly know the difference and choose the right recovery mode.

When to Select Recover-from-iOS-Device Mode?

- Data such as contacts, messages, etc, was deleted by accident, but the data hasn't been overwritten (You didn't do any operations like answering phone, sending messages, etc, for your device.)

- Previous iTunes backup files doesn't contain the information you want after losing data

- Haven't backed up your device with iTunes before losing data

- iOS device screen has broken, but your computer can still recognize it

- Extract some or all previous data from old device to computer

- Hope to recovery with DFU Mode, but your device is iPhone 6(Plus)/5s/5c/5/4s, iPad 2, the new iPad, iPad 4, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Restina Display, iPad Air, iPod touch 1/2, or iPod Touch 5

When to Pick Recover-from-iTunes-Backup Mode?

- iOS device lost or not around you, but your device owns iTunes backup

- Have iTunes backup, and want to extract useful data or files from that backup without erasing other data

- iOS device connects to computer or to iTunes failure

- Preview and selectively recover files from iTunes backup

- Restore iTunes Backup via iTunes unsuccessfully

- Data like contacts, calendars, etc, has already been overwritten on your iOS device (Do operations for your device after data loss.)

- Recovery from iOS device mode or DFU Mode fails, but your device has backup

When to Choose Recover-from-the-iCloud Mode?

- Restore previous data when your iDevice lost, or your device is not at hand

- Haven’t backed up your iDevice data to iTunes or local computer, and the Recover from iOS Device mode cannot find the data you want, but that data had been backed up to iCloud

- The other two recovery modes (Recover from iOS Device and Recover from iTunes Backup) cannot find your data, but it had been backed up to iCloud

- Prefer to restore data from iCloud backup, instead of iTunes backup or directly from iDevice

When to Switch to DFU Mode?

- iOS device with black screen

- iTunes encrypted backup password has been forgotten

- Lost password for powering on Apple device

- App crashes that causes your device refusing to work, but your device can still be identified by your computer

- Hope to take less hard disk storage space of your computer, or the hard disk storage space on your computer is not enough

- Desire to spend less time on scanning iOS device

- Hope to retrieve previous data from iPhone 4/3G/3GS, iPad, iPod touch 3, or iPod touch 4 thoroughly

The Bottom Line

According to the statement above, hope you can switch to the right recovery mode for your iOS device restoration. Now, you can base on your own data loss situation to choose the right mode.
